Miss Philippines crowned Miss World 2013 after protests

Miss WORLD 2013 - Crowning Moment

US born MEGAN YOUNG, a 23 year-old accepted the crown of MISS WORLD 2013 from last year's winner, Wenxia Yu of China. 

SECOND PLACE - Marine Lorphelin, a 20-year-old medical student from France.
THIRD PLACE - Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter, 23, also a medical student from Ghana.


Where the protest begins from - When thousands of members of the radical ISLAM defenders front took to the streets of pageant in Indonesia (among the world's most populous Muslim countries) calling it "PRONOGRAPHY".

The protester forced organizers to move the event from a venue outside Jakarta & then its venue was shifted to NUSA DUA in Southern Bali (a Hindu Resort Island).


Event Organizers announced in June that contestants would avoid bikinis this year in favor of sarongs (a long piece of cloth worn wrapped around the body and tucked at the waist or under the armpits) to avoid causing offence. 


In compliance to this the embassies of US, Britain and Aussies issued travel warnings to Indonesia and saying the extremist groups planning violence to disrupt contest. In regards to this Indonesian police said that there were no reports of unrest surroundings the event on Saturday.


The new Miss World will going to represent the MISS WORLD ORGANIZATION next year and help to raise money for its charitable causes also she promised to be the best MISS WORLD EVER.


Finally, Miss Philippines was crowned Miss World 2013 on Saturday at a tightly guarded ceremony in Bali, Indonesia..
