'Evil Dead' Director Fede Alvarez Tapped for 'Dante's Inferno'

Fede Alvarez is ready to direct a live action adaptation of the Electronic Arts game "Dante's Inferno" that story supported poet Alighieri's 14th-century epos "Divine Comedy". The "Evil Dead" helmer can develop the project for Universal.

The story revolves around a knight United Nations agency travels through the 9 circles of Hell to reclaim the soul of his beloved character from the hands of Lucifer. Jay Basu ("Monsters: Dark Continent") is finalizing the script at the start written by Bruce McKenna ("The Pacific").
